How long does it take for a new domain to become active? |
|
Typically 18-24 hours and no more than 3 business days. It takes this long because the DNS records of unnumbered Internet Service Providers (ISP) need to be updated with your new domain information. |

Can I have my own SSL Certificate with any of AmCy's hosting plans? |
|
Yes, if you prefer to have your own SSL certificate, we can install one for you; we use digital certificates by Thawte, the leading Internet Certificate Authority (CA). We do not charge any additional fees for the installation. |

Does American CyberSpace® provide help in obtaining an Internet Merchant Account (IMA) so I can accept credit cards? |

Yes. We have affiliations with over 6 Acquiring Banks and a host of payment processors. We can, therefore, find the perfect fit for just about any situation. Yes, you can upgrade your web hosting package at any time and to whichever level you wish. We do not charge an upgrade fee. |

What is your refund policy? |
|
We offer refunds for our web hosting (within 30 days) and web design/development services (according to contract). For obvious reasons, we do not offer refunds for our domain registration service. |

How does your billing work? |
|
You will be billed automatically according to the billing cycle you chose when you signed up for web hosting or domain registration. We do not bill automatically for our web design services; these details are set forth in the contract you sign with us. If you have further questions about how we bill, please contact us. |

How do I get my e-mail to work? |
|
Our systems uses the Internet standard POP3 protocol to handle e-mail. You mail server is your IP address or your domain name. For outgoing mail (SMTP), you need to use your Internet Service Provider's (ISP) SMTP server. To manage your e-mail accounts, login to your control panel and choose the Mail Manager link. If you require further assistance, check out the E-mail Software Setup section of our online support manual or send us an e-mail. |

Do you offer parked domains? |
|
Yes, we will point another domain name to your site free of charge. There is a $10 set up fee for each parked domain (this does not include the discounted annual fee of $24.00 we charge for registering or transferring a domain). To setup domain parking/forwarding, send us an e-mail with details. |

Why was my site suspended? |
|
We suspend sites for nonpayment, excessive disk space usage, excessive transfer rate, and violations of the Acceptable Use Policy. A suspended site will have an index/homepage with a statement asking you to contact your host. |

Why was my site deleted? |
|
Web sites that spam, support hacking, engage in credit card fraud or contain adult content or links to adult content, are deleted with no warning. ***NOTE: We also state in our Acceptable Use Policy that we can refuse service to anyone for any reason. |

What do I do if my e-mail goes down? |
|
Your POP3 mail may go down for a few seconds (at most) if the system gets extremely busy. Our network can handle an incredible amount of e-mail traffic so interruptions in service are very, very rare. If a brief disruption in service occurs, you will not lose any e-mail messages sent to you. If your e-mail goes down for more than a few minutes, contact us using our tech support form and we will resolve the issue without delay. |

My PERL CGI scripts aren't working. How do I get them to work? |
|

Yes, we can provide assistance to our web hosting clients; depending on the type of problem you are having, a nominal fee may be imposed. However, all our hosting plans include CGI-Bin's which you can use to install scripts on your own. |

Does American CyberSpace® offer web hosting for adult sites? |
|
Sorry, we cannot permit sites containing adult content with any of our web hosting plans. We can refer you to one of our sister sites if you cannot find a quality adult host. For more information, send us an e-mail. |

How do I make changes to the Contact, Administrative or Technical contact associated with my domain? |
|
Simply send us an e-mail with the changes and we'll update our records within 24 hours. This does not mean that the changes will take effect in that time. Changes will only be visible to you when the records of the WHOIS database you use to perform WHOIS lookups has been updated with the new information. |

You can upload your site files to your virtual server as soon as you receive your IP address, username and password; you will receive this info within 2-6 hours of submitting our signup form. You do not have to wait for a new domain to become active to upload files to your new virtual space. |
